Dear Watchmen,

I freely admit that this subject is more political than spiritual! But who can separate secular politics from the spiritual lifestyle, for one affects the other?

This is VERY important and it is necessary for both the spiritual and secular of us to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW and before those who represent us, and make the laws by which we live, go off 'campaigning' in order to continue to represent us and save their jobs!

Facts
1. There is, and has always been, a major basic difference between the legal systems of Europe and Britain:
Habeas Corpus is the British legal system and has pertained since the Magna Carta signed at Runnymede in 1216 and enacted in 1679 as the Act of Habeas Corpus. It considers a man INNOCENT and the ACCUSER (through the Crown) must prove his guilt.
Corpus Juris is the legal system that operates in Europe and has evolved from the Code Napoleon. It considers a person GUILTY and the ACCUSED must prove his innocence.
In both cases the gathering of evidence and the trial may take time, but under Habeas Corpus the accused is either granted bail or, if kept in custody, the time in custody counts as part of sentence, while under Corpus Juris the accused is kept in custody until the trial - a period that could be as much as 2 years.
2. Because this Government has signed us (by the Lisbon Treaty) into being one of the full member states of the United States of Europe, we are now subject to the European Public Prosecutors Office which is part of the European Court of Justice and it will try to force Corpus Juris upon us.

3. This takes from us our constitutional and legal systems which we have created (and fought for) over the last 9 centuries and it will be put upon us just at the time when we are embroiled in a General Election and all that precedes it!
For example:
Imagine that you are running a Bed and Breakfast;
An African person wishes to book a room for the night;
You realise that all rooms that are available are already filled or reserved;
You inform the African who is standing at your door that the are no vacancies;
He takes offence, does not believe you and is angry and goes away, reporting you to the police and accusing you of racist discrimination.
Under Corpus Juris you can now be arrested, without warning, by the European Police force and, without being charged , you are assumed to be guilty and are placed in custody for up to as much as two years awaiting trial;
At your trial, which is unlikely to be by Jury, the onus is upon YOU to prove your innocence.
Action
An Early Day Motion (EDM) has already been tabled by one of our MPs: it is registered as Early Day Motion 637 (an EDM is a topic tabled by an MP which he wishes to be debated "at an early day". The MP concerned usually lobbies MPs for support and the more signatures he obtains the more liley the debate; not many get debated)

Please will you NOW:
Write to your own MP (before he starts campaigning) and asks him or her to sign up the EDM 637 intimating, at the same time, that no party should be in power unless it guarantees to protect our legal system? (my email below)
Write to your local newspaper and refer this matter to them.
Forward this to someone whom you know will act;
3. Pray that God will help us protect the system that has been the spinal column of the nation that took Christianity and fair justice across the world
and do, please, write: A few letters to a few MPs and a few newspapers will not cut much ice, but thousands will!
